I had the pleasure of appearing on Vent’s ‘The Just Checking In Podcast’, where I opened up about my life and my career thus far.

Much of my discussion with Vent’s founder, Freddie Cocker, centred around a Newsweek article of mine which investigated the health complications associated with the contraceptive pill through the lens of affected users.

I spoke with Freddie about my motivation to write the story, my research behind it, and what can be taken forward from the piece.

I also opened up about my childhood, my parents, my media career and my favourite books—as well as dementia, Iran, my mental health, and brain tumours.

Freddie has been extremely generous to give me one hour and a half of airtime (which is something that anyone who works in journalism or production knows is rare to come by).

Despite that, those who know me well may wonder why I didn’t elaborate on certain things or bring other things up when I had the chance. While this is a really long piece of content, it would’ve been impossible for me to squeeze all my thoughts, feelings and life experiences in, so please do keep that in mind if you listen.
